Privacy
SLIDE, SEEKER, RANGE FINDER, SUNDOWN and HERD collect nothing.
These five Extravaganza apps have no account, server, analytics, advertising or crash reporting. They make no network requests. Their content is already inside the app, which is why they work in aeroplane mode. Optional sharing is described below. Fact Minefield has a separate section on this page.
Everything each app stores stays on your device, inside the app's own sandbox. Deleting the app deletes all of it. There is no cloud copy, because there is no cloud.
SLIDE stores
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Best swipes, stars and score per level, with its attempts, the day you solved it and whether it was capped or shown | so the ladder shows your progress |
| Daily results and the dates you played | the streak and the archive |
| Each level or daily you were part-way through | leaving a level loses nothing |
| Sound, haptics and reminder settings, which tips and lessons you have seen, and whether this version has asked for a rating | settings, the reminders and the rating prompt |
Reset progress in Settings erases your level records, your daily results and the games you were part-way through, and switches reminders off. Your other settings stay.
SEEKER stores
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Per-day result: outcome, score, difficulty, whether the Mist was used, moves spent, how many squares were still possible, and the share line | the streak, stats, archive and sharing a result again |
| An unfinished round: its moves, board and difficulty; where the fox is hidden on Big Board and in two players, and in two players who hid it | leaving mid-round loses nothing |
| Big Board best score, rounds played and how many Big Board deals a date has had | the Big Board record and a fresh board each entry |
| Eleven preferences: haptics, sound, whether the Mist starts on, difficulty, tutorial seen, unguided intro seen, Mist control used, whether this version has asked for a rating, daily reminder on, its time, and streak reminder on | settings, introductions, the rating prompt and local reminders |
These records stay on your device in a local database and preferences. Finished two-player rounds are not recorded. Reset progress in Settings erases every round, the streak, the stats, the Big Board record and any round in progress, and switches reminders off. Your other settings stay.
RANGE FINDER stores
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Each finished round: date, mode, score, par, and the order you put ORDER UP in | the archive and the result screen |
| Per question: the range you set, whether the value was inside, points, and the question's category | stats and your calibration curve |
| The dates you played a daily | the streak |
| A round you are part-way through | leaving mid-round loses nothing |
| Sound and haptics settings, whether your reminders are on and when, tutorial finished, the last table's player names, and the app version that last asked for a rating | settings, the reminders, a rematch and the rating prompt |
Pass-the-phone scores are not stored. The last table's player names are kept on the phone so a rematch starts with them filled in. Reset progress in Settings erases every round, and with them the streak and the stats, and switches reminders off. Your other settings stay.
SUNDOWN stores
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Your best bell time for each house | the best day shown on the home screen |
| The day you are part-way through: the house, where the sun is, what you have done | leaving a house loses nothing |
| Tutorial finished or skipped | so it is offered only once |
SUNDOWN has no sharing and no settings to store.
HERD stores
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Each field's and lesson's fewest moves | your records and rosettes |
| Each daily field's result: the moves of your first finish, its par, whether you began it on its own day, and the dog's route that penned it | the streak, Past days, Your record, and reopening a day as you won it |
| Any field, lesson or daily field you are part-way through, with its undo history and the day you began it | leaving a field loses nothing |
| Sound and haptics settings, and the app version that last asked you for a rating | settings, and asking at most once per version |
Erase my progress in Settings erases every record, every daily result and every field you are part-way through, and with them your streak. It keeps your sound and haptics settings.
Sharing
The one thing that can leave your device is the one you send yourself. Tapping Share opens the system share sheet with a short spoiler-free text (the date, your score and, in most games, a row of glyphs, with a link) and a picture of the same result, drawn on your phone. Neither contains a question, an answer, an identifier or anything about you, except that a RANGE FINDER Pass-the-phone share names who won and each player's total, as entered at the table. Where they go is your choice, made in the share sheet. HERD's picture shows the fold with that day's sheep penned, never the field's hedges, the dog's start or your route. SUNDOWN has no sharing.
If you choose Save Image in the share sheet, iOS adds the picture to Photos. That is the only reason SLIDE, SEEKER, RANGE FINDER and HERD ask to add photos, and they never read your photo library.
Reminders
SLIDE, SEEKER and RANGE FINDER can remind you to play. Reminders are off until you turn one on in Settings, and iOS asks your permission first. A daily reminder comes at the time you choose; while it is on, you can add a streak reminder, which can come at 20:00 on a day you have not yet played. Each is a local notification scheduled on your iPhone and shown by it. There is no push service, and nothing is sent anywhere. Turning a reminder off, Reset progress, or deleting the app removes them. HERD and SUNDOWN have no reminders.
Rating prompt
After a finished game, never in the middle of one, four of these apps may ask iOS to show Apple's rating prompt, at most once per version: SLIDE after your third three-star daily, SEEKER after your third caught daily, RANGE FINDER after your third daily that beats par, and HERD after your first win of Field 2.5. Apple decides whether it appears and handles your answer; the app is not told what you chose.
Children
The five Extravaganza apps collect no data, show no ads, contain no purchases, and have no chat or user-generated content. Refer to each game's App Store listing for its published age rating.
Third-party components
The Extravaganza apps bundle open-source libraries including Flutter, drift, sqlite3, shared_preferences, path_provider, audioplayers (the sound cues), share_plus (the share sheet), url_launcher (opening Mail, this website or a question's source when you tap), in_app_review (Apple's rating prompt), and flutter_local_notifications with timezone and flutter_timezone (reminders, scheduled on your iPhone at its own time of day). These are not configured to collect analytics or transmit your saved game. Sharing sends only the content you choose.
Fact Minefield
Fact Minefield has no account, ads, in-app purchases or analytics SDKs. Its questions, answers and explanations are inside the app, so it plays offline. The app does not send your answers, scores or settings to us. What it keeps stays on your device:
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| The game you are playing: the answers dealt and your moves | Resume; leaving mid-game loses nothing |
| One previous game: the one you leave when you start a new game or restore one; if that game can't be read, a copy of it | Restore previous game |
| Your record: your best score in each mode with its date, games finished, perfect clears, and your last 20 games (date, mode, category, difficulty, score, any medal, how each round ended, which board was dealt and your best score before that game); if it can't be read, a copy of that file | Your record, and the best shown on Home and on each result |
| Preferences: mode, category, difficulty, sound, haptics, high contrast, reduced motion, larger text, whether you have started a game, and the app version that last asked for a rating | settings, and asking at most once per version |
Your record holds no answers and nothing that identifies you. Erase game data in Settings removes everything in this table, after you confirm. Restart is not erasure: it keeps one previous game, and later replacements overwrite that copy. Removing the app removes its local data; your device and Apple services may retain backups according to your settings. Manage those separately through your device and Apple account.
Once your record holds a perfect clear or three finished games, Fact Minefield may ask iOS to show Apple's rating prompt on a finished game's result, at most once per version and never during a round. It remembers the version it last asked in, and Erase game data clears that. Apple decides whether it appears, and the app is never told what you choose.
Share gives your score card and a line of text to your iPhone's share sheet, and you choose where they go. The app sends nothing itself, and the card shows no answers. If you choose Save Image, iOS adds the picture to Photos. Fact Minefield never reads your photos.
Answer review includes optional links to external source websites. Opening one uses the internet; that website receives the normal information from your browser and applies its own privacy policy. Opening sources is optional.
Support and Privacy are also available offline in the app. A contact or answer report shows its message before you choose Copy or Open Mail. An answer report includes that answer's original question, scope, explanation, sources, content reference, app version and any note you enter. It does not automatically attach your saved game or other rounds. Opening Mail does not send the message; you choose whether to send.
The app retains your optional note only while the report is open. Closing it discards the app's note, while copied text or Mail drafts may remain under your clipboard, Mail and device settings. Changes made in Mail do not update the in-app preview.
Fact Minefield uses SwiftUI and JavaScriptCore. It is not covered by the Flutter component list above. Refer to its App Store listing for its published age rating.
